The sonar calibration system SIERA aims to characterize the performance of underwater acoustic systems (hull-mounted sonars, dipping sonars, towed sonars, buoys).
Composed of a processing unit, a lightweight towed body, and two winches of electrical cables, SIERA can be used as an acoustic noise maker, repeater or responder.
SIERA is also relevant for operator training.
